By using RateSidekick ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What RateSidekick Does

RateSidekick is a software tool that analyzes merchant payment processing statements using artificial intelligence. It identifies fees, calculates effective rates, detects month-over-month changes, and generates negotiation language based on the data found in your statements.

RateSidekick is an informational tool, not a financial advisor. The analysis we provide is based on AI interpretation of your documents and should be used as a starting point for your own research and decisions — not as professional financial advice.

2. Your Account

• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You may not share your account with others or use it for purposes other than analyzing your own business's statements.
• You must be 18 years or older to use the Service.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use RateSidekick only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Upload statements belonging to businesses you do not own or have explicit authorization to act on behalf of
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the Service in bulk
• Use the Service to harass, defraud, or harm others
• Attempt to circumvent our security measures or payment requirements

4. Subscription and Payment

RateSidekick is offered on a subscription basis. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us at hello@ratesidekick.com within 7 days of a charge if you believe an error occurred.

5. Your Data

You own your data. By uploading statements, you grant us a limited license to process that data solely to provide the Service to you. We do not sell or share your statement data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. AI-Generated Content

The analysis, findings, and negotiation language generated by RateSidekick are produced by artificial intelligence and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated content before acting on it. We are not liable for outcomes resulting from use of AI-generated negotiation language or analysis.

7. No Guarantee of Results

We do not guarantee that using RateSidekick will result in lower processing fees, successful negotiations, or any specific financial outcome. Results depend on many factors outside our control, including your processor's policies and your negotiating relationship with them.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RateSidekick and its owners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep RateSidekick available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes by email.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
